    August 22, 2023 - 99 POINT WINE

Dark ruby in color with a very short reddish rim.

Sweet nose with lots of black fruits, cedar, vanilla and chocolates.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate, with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing black currants, plums, cedar, cooked cherries, spices, licorice, cola, chocolates, tobacco leaf, black pepper, barnyard, earth, light vegetables and pencil lead.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. Extracted, bold and rich.

This 21-year-old is drinking beautifully now. Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

    Robert Parker 99 points.

A good quality wine that very aged nicely. Fruit forward and elegant. Good stuff.

A blend of 97% Shiraz and 3% Viognier. Aged for 30 months in new French oak barrels. Unfiltered and unfined.

    14.5% alcohol by volume.

    93 points.

    $200.

    August 9, 2023 - part of a 5 vintage vertical with 97, 99, 01, 02, 04: ranked #5
decanted about 30 minutes after opening, and served a little more than an hour after decanting. Minty, sweet on the palate. Wine was mature enough now to soften it on the palate but still retained enough structure. After more than 2 hours in the decanter this improved with some acidity on the palate.

July 22, 2023 - Deep color, big fruit, really special. Can age longer or enjoy now as we did. Flat out terrific.

May 21, 2023 - Wow this is some fantastic wine right here. At 21 years - this is just in a fantastic stage. As soon as I opened the bottle and poured a glass the whole room was filled with notes of dark fruit, spices, coffee, fresh picked blackberries, and a hint of leather. It pours very dark with some brown hue on the rim of the glass. But wow - that nose is just so delightful. Everyone commented on how great this wine smelled and how it filled the room.

After about 15 minutes in the glass - the mouthfeel is incredible. Concentrated but not over the top extracted, incredibly well balanced, and lots of dark fruit with a great long finish that just leaves you wanting to take another sip. This is very easy drinking. The tannins are perfectly integrated at this point and the flavor just keeps going and going. I feel like this wine is in its perfect stage now. It is beautiful. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
