Can drink now or hold a long time. I didn't decant, but opened an hour before and drank slow as was the 3rd wine of Thanksgiving dinner. Not as massive as the 06 but closer in style than 04 or 05. |

Tannins literally tore my mouth apart. Decanted it and started drinking other wines. Poured the wine around midnight and it was phenomenal. Hugely structured, full bodied and chewy. The decant softened the tannins to the point of being smooth and silky. Flavors were classic CF . Tar , roses, cherry , licorice. Amazing. |

Not necessarily as prestigious of vintage as the 1958, 1961, 1964 or 1967, but boy is this wine going strong! This bottle was transcendent in understanding the age-worthiness of Barolo - WOW! A truffle bomb with layers of fresh red fruit, underbrush and every Asian spice that dreams are made of. This is an ethereal wine, that kept improving over the 2-3 hours that we enjoyed it - wish it was a magnum! Going to guess, that this wine has decades of life still to enjoy. |

4/6/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRThis was good, though it was young and big; not closed down at all, just seemed like it needed some more time to come together; big ripe fruit with maybe even a hint of raisin though with air this got fresher and that hint faded; there was spice and forest floor alongside some floral hints; the palate was large scaled with intense fruit and spice notes; the alcohol is slightly noticeable but seems to integrate with air (or is that me being more intoxicated?); overall this was very good and I think will improve from here. Certainly not closed and with a rich meal now it is good. Will be curious to follow. |

The High acidity is mouthwatering and crisp while the High tannins have some clear youth and a real chewiness. This will certainly benefit from extended aging. While it feels like it will be accessible at an earlier age, it will still need some time before it gets to where it will go. |
