  • Texas Wine School, Luxury Wines of Italy Class. This is a very well-crafted single-vineyard Amarone from a prime location. A traditional blend of 70% Corvina and Corvinone, with 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara. It is aged for two years is French oak tonneau and then for another year in large casks. The nose is clean, complex and developed, with dried black fruits (raisins, plums), baked red fruit, hazelnuts and truffles. The palate is dry but with plenty of sweet fruit which is balanced by medium (+) acidity and medium tannins. The alcohol is high (15%) but remarkably unobtrusive. This wine is delicious and by no means over the hill. One of the class favorites.

  • youthful amarone with plenty of ripe red fruit and balanced acidity and smoothed tannins. Plums and redberries with a hint of gentle oak. Medium-to-long finish. Complex nose and aroma. Some alcohol left but not overwhelming. Drink now or hold for further three to five years but will likely not improve-Best paired with a stufato di manzo with M&S before Christmas

  • Sydney Italian Wine Festival 2015: Cherry, smoked wood and leather. Silken mouthfeel, the structure is there but is really well integrated. Great balanced and the acidity sweeps through nicely across its length. Drink now while it has hit its peak.

  • Still on top form, classic Amarone, deep luscious flavours. Unlikely to go much further so drink up.

  • The Speri 95 was a clear winner within the heat of Speri 85 and 95! The nose was still intense with the classic dark fruit character of the Amarone but the sweetness as shuttle and kept in place! It had a hint of bacon on the nose also and the smoked character was really a nice play for an Amarone! The palet was still alive and kicking with the dark plum showing nicely! The Alcohol was totally integrated witch made this wine drinking perfectly right know! It is by no means a bomb of fruit and it is nice to meet Amarone that goes for structure and firmness but still keeps it traditional! The finis was a bit short though but what it brought to the table was really nice so thumbs up:-)
