This was still alive. Interestingly the fruit (mainly red) was still providing cover for the much softened structure and in good balance with the tertiary leather and forest floor notes. Definitely fading but quite charming. Medium to long finish and layers of complexity. Drink up, will only decline - but slowly.

I found this 70 Evangile a shadow of the great 70 Right Banks like Petrus and Trotanoy, with whom Evangile usually competes closely. This example, despite a base neck fill, was very light weight, offering the right notes on the nose (truffle, mineral, blackberry) but without any tangible depth or energy. The palate, too, came across as anemic. Perhaps bad luck with one bottle, but difficult to place this higher than 85 points.
