This wine is in a great place right now. One hour in the Decanter is not enough. It starts to wake up after 2 h. Served with a meaty lasagna with a truffled Bechamel sauce. The Barbera is the perfect partner. Rather in the modernist style, I'm still impressed by the reductive fruit, cigarr box and hints of Viol the Conca Tre Pile presents. Fine length. The baby fat is long gone and this wine is turning into a Piemontese gentleman. Very subtile, earthy, acidity that is clearly present in the mouth. 91 - 92.

Reveals more with significant amount of breathing, although never really gets there. However, there is balance and fruit here, not just the biggest depth. Could be that more time will add to this dimension, but I would prefer to drink this when still being young and dominated by the freshness of fruit. Great Barbera, but at this level (and price tag) there are several big canons up there, and this one might not just win despite being a great bottle of its kind.

2011 G Conterno Barbera Francia vs 2010 A Conterno Barbera Conca Tre Pile: - Farbe: Francia wirkt fast lila/blau, dagegen ist der Aldo Conterno konzentriert, tiefrot. Beide sehr konzentriert!
