2010 Barolos at Terra Rossa with NLWTS (Terra Rossa, Upper Street): Dark ruby. Very generous on the nose, and relatively black fruited/darker in comparison with others. Grainy tannins and pretty round. Bit of tar on the palate but also some tart blackcurrant. Pretty concentrated and obviously bags of life left, but for me just a little bit boring? Little bit middle of the road, in this company at least. 89+

2010 Barolo (Terra Rossa, N1): A really strong start to proceedings: real depth and density with aromatic complexity. Mr. Sheen (Butylphenyl methylpropional says Google, but I think I'll stick with Mr. Sheen), black cherry, coffee, pomegranate, rose petal, mint. Voluptuous nose that evolves with air. Resolved on the palate - smooth and silky, red fruit with an umami edge. Just getting a little dry on the finish - I'd guess this is at peak.

Traditional Barolo at the beginning of its drinking window. At the moment better with food (beef pot roast and, on day 2, Beaufort d‘Alpage) accompanied very well. Will improve further, 92-93+.

Piedmont dinner (Home): Lifted and aromatic, a sense of transparency on the nose but the palate is rather tight and dry- the contrast was a disappointment and it needs time. It should be very very good in a few years.

Same as my 2022 notes. a real winner. Definitely a cut above their 2008 (which is great in its own way, but not quite up to this later vintage.)
