  • Given that the wine is more than 20 years old, I was amazed at the deep violet core of this wine. Clearly brown tones at the rim, but beautiful concentration of colour. Wonderful nose dominated by ripe cherries, warm earth and a hint of liquorice. Medium to full bodied, silky tannins, good acidity. Not as concentrated as the colour hinted at, but a nice aftertaste of cherries, earth and dried wood with clear tones of liquorice (oak?). I wine at its peak right now, but will keep well for many years. I do not think it will develop much more, it will probably just loose freshness.
