13% An even, bright ruby colour, with a deeper-coloured core. The nose has ripe, subtly perfumed blackberry fruit and a bit of chocolate plum richness. There's ripe, forward fruit on the attack. quite a vibrant, almost zingy feel on the palate. Quite curiously sweet red and black fruit flavours give way to a tannic structure which starts to feel very bitter. This is a wine that has some high points, but overall fails to convince. Returning to the bottle a day later, it had very significantly declined.

Overwhelming, lovely, aromas of butterscotch and caramel at first. Settling down slightly with more cherries coming through and a hint of coffee. Delicious.
