  • Very dark color, so it looks as though it will be quite heavy, but it isn't at all. Smoky, with some intensely bright cherry-cranberry fruit, high acidity, a hint of aspirin-like edginess, and some sneaky tannin. Fully drinkable now, but will last a long time. Light enough to serve as a very effective complement to baked red snapper.

  • Grilled herbs, peppery spices, meat juices, incense, sweaty saddle leather, black fruits. Medium bodied, grippy tannin. Lively acids. Juicy fruits and casserole on the palate. Good length. More integrated, less green than a bottle in April – there was a lot of creep on the cork, so maybe a little air may have advanced this bottle. I did miss the previous wildness a little but appreciate the sophisticated style. Amazing value. Really scratches the (quality) Northern Rhone itch at a ¼ of the price.

  • Dark ruby. Medium intense nose of red and dark cherries, blackberries, some blueberries, pomegranate, floral whiff, some licorice, white pepper, some earthy notes, some vanilla and oak.

Palate similar. Juicy and with a fresh acidity, quite good complexity of flavors, intense and persistent. Keep sipping at this wine and discovering new nuances. Delicious wine!

Medium body, medium acidity, medium tannins.

  • Spicy red fruits, minty herbs, flinty, fatty meat note - rather N. Rhone. Very spicy in the mouth, acid tingle, clay note, same thru the long finish with spiky tannin. Floral and citrus qualities emerge. More integrated the next day with lots of meaty savoriness. So like an old school Cote-Rotie. Excellent value.
