Colour shows some development but totally in order. Lovely, typical bouquet of dry roses, very touching. Gets better and better the longer it is open. On the palate still the sensation of high acidity and unresolved tannins. Actually I don't think they ever will. Very dry. Nice deep flavours of ripe fruit. A substantial wine. Has somewhat of a "tough love" character. Definitely not an easy drink to have absent-mindedly.
I don't know a great deal about Barbaresco but this one must be a prime example. And I will accept any drinker saying that it is too acidic and tough for him to enjoy. This wine is not looking to make friends.

This is quite something, a complete wine, and very much the expression of the vintage and - if not the terroir - then the producer, semi-modern style, this one has kept well and seems a point right now with notes of tar, tobacco, red berries and a creamy, yet dry texture. Very enjoyable. Will keep, but seems to be peaking.

Mostly Italians plus Scarecrow and Fonseca (Our favorite high end Italian): Gorgeous showing for this wine. Seems to be at peak but no hurry. Ruby in color. The nose has cherries, plums, sandalwood, roses and tar. This bottle was purchased on released. Medium bodied. Beautiful layering with vibrant cherry fruit, slight tannins, and some spice. Perfect balance. Long finish. Pop and pour, this improved while we drank it, but it was gorgeous anyway. If you have more than one, time to check in.
