Very enjoyable. And I was blown away by the condition of this bottle. It was served blind, and I thought this was a 2002 or 2005. Clearly a big vintage, as this had real size and structure, and definitely didn't feel like a 26 year old wine for me. First impressions made me think this was a Gevrey-Chambertin due to the grip and tannins, possibly a Chambertin even. With air, there was slightly more fragrance and floral notes. What a stunning bottle and will age another 10-20 years. You could argue this is still yet to peak! From TL

Dark garnet. The nose on this showed a great mix of anise, scorched earth and dark cherry. Medium to full bodied, this was loaded with secondary characteristics of beef broth, iron and dried herbs. This still shows a firm structured tannic backbone and some dark fruit is quite evident on the mid palate. The finish is definitely brooding and the tannin makes me think this could sleep even longer. Fascinating and delicious.

Platinum Tasting Group - 1995 Clos Vougeot Horizontal (Andre and Sabine's House, Mountain View, CA): Darker red than the other wines in the lineup. Modest nose. Some heat (B+). Good palate. Different (B+).
My #9, Group's #4 (82 pts). Tasted blind.

Dark fruit and earth. This seemed a bit dried out. Mushrooms and faded red fruit on the palate. Nice, but tough in this lineup.
