Off the list at The Grill. It sure if it was the wine or our bottle but the wine felt tired and angular. Biting VA and olive and leather. Prime rib helped!

This was lovely and I’m thoroughly impressed. Touch of barnyard funk but the red fruits were really opulent and came across very well. With some air the wine showed a ton of white pepper and spices, with some violet notes to it as well. It’s one of those enigmatic Cornas, really well made and enjoyable to drink.

Boxing day at Caroline's: Another obvious northern Rhone but thought this had a more perfumed and elegant palate, so went for mid-90s Cote-Rotie. Seamless black fruit, impressive length and balance. In a perfect window now. A real treat and a close third on the night.

N Rhone Chez R: Served blind. On the nose - blood and soil - suggesting Cornas. The palate is elevated, not quite ethereal. Again, just lovely acidity and balance. On revelation - unlike the 98s, 95 gives the impression that it will go on for a long time. A real treat - possibly my favourite wine of dinner excepting the mega-flight...

Similar to the 2020 bottle, but a bit of earthiness on the finish -- were it not for that, I'd give it another 2-3 points. Cellared since original release, Kermit Lynch import.
