A blend of Grenache, Merlot, young vine Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The last vintage of this Font Caude 'Tradition' was 2000 with the vines going into other blends thereafter. I think this is better than the L'Esprit de Font Caude was the more expensive wine. This is relaxed, interesting and delicious. A point.

(Domaine Alain Chabanon Coteaux du Languedoc Montpeyroux Domaine Font Caude) Slightly cloudy, bricking, dark cranberry red color with pale meniscus; lovely mature, lifted, marmalade, truffle, roasted meat and black fruit nose; tasty, mature, roasted meat, beef jus, meaty palate, that fades somewhat after 40 minutes in the glass, taking on more of a gravy profile; medium-plus finish (80% Syrah, 20% Grenache)
