  • I almost never see war years wines, especially from a magnum. So this was an extraordinary rarity. The blue, green tints in the misshaped bottled was gorgeous, and a bit better than the wine. This tasted like bottled history with a rusticity to the texture and strong green, peppery, herbal, cedar, and tobacco wrapper notes with the last remaining vestiges of bright red currants and cranberry. But at the end of the day, it was the sharing of the wine with friends that made this such a great experience.
