Thursday, November 24, 2022 - Redolent of plums and cassis, with oak and tar and tobacco, some spice and a slight gamey note. Lots of extraction on this. It’s still quite young, obviously: I wouldn’t say that the oak is entirely integrated at this stage and the tannins are still pretty damn thick. But it’s absolutely brimming with promise. It’s rich, it’s fruity, it’s round, and the alcohol, while high, isn’t obtrusive. Give this another 2-3 years and I bet this will be fantastic.
