90 Points

Friday, January 27, 2023 - Recommended to try by a friend more familiar with this cruise line’s wine picks. Docking in Gisborne NZ, giving this a shot: bright reddish purple, fresh Sangiovese nose, red fruits, dates, pomegranate; round fruited but good grip and depth. Decently long, pleasant finish. Shipboard this sells per glass for what’s shown here as bottle price. Happy that my cruise package includes beverages! If you can buy this by the case and your retailer offers 10 or 15% case discount, this would be even more of a slam dunk for a house red. Easy quaff! 90+

It’s a good solid wine and we enjoyed it several times, especially with the lamb chops available in the specialty restaurants onboard. In addition to recommending this wine (the Silverado Cab was even better), highly recommend the shore excursions centered around wildlife. Cheers!
