Saturday, May 16, 2009 - My first Pegau. Seemed very tight and tannic on opening: ended up being decanted for 4 hours. It has a wonderful poise this wine. A delicious nose of cinnamon, blueberries, and raspberries with funky leather, liquorice and cedar undertones, with an almost seamless segue into a gentle, sweetly spiced and wonderfully smooth finish. The funk and character is always present, and the consistency from start to finish makes the whole experience utterly more-ish and totally satisfying: the complete package.
