Community Tasting Note

Sunday, July 19, 2009 - Color: deep purple, clear and clean. Nose: Barnyard, dirt, plum and blackberries on the nose. Heavy "earthy" feel. Taste: leather, plum, black fruit, dirt. Flavor profile was close to nose on the attack, but the transition to the back end was disjointed and sharp. It just felt like things started out nice, then went terribly wrong. The transition softened over day 2 and 3 drinking. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied. Overall - this wine was "OK" but the disjointed transitions left me tasting more alcohol than anything else on the finish. Not pleasant. Definitely improved with time. An OK effort - but I would not seek out.
