50 Points

Saturday, March 4, 2006 - In one word - vile. It smelled and tasted like a combination of turpentine and acetone. I spilled my glass in the sink and rinsed thoroughly before using the glass again - partly because I didn't want the last drop to mix into the next wine and partly because I wasn't sure if this stuff might dissolve my glass.

However to give it a score of 50, which plays into the overall average rating, isn't quite fair if it was a spoiled bottle. I can appreciate a low score if you don't believe it was a spoiled bottle, and you simply did not appreciate the wine, but I would save an actual score for something like that. For a spoiled bottle I would recommend no score at all. Personally, when researching wine to buy, I do pay attention to overall ratings...
