Monday, May 22, 2006 - Last Monday Tasting Group (Fisher Compound): Rich, golden coloring - somewhat surprising for a 2002, but given my inexperience with LV CB, I wasn't sure what this would mean. The initial nose was quite carmelized (slightly oxidized?), followed by slight volitile esters, but not VA. Lanolin and marzapan are also present. Pleasantly, there were no oxidized notes on the palate. This wine has great spice and lots of acidity - a little phenolic, but in line. Wonderful length and weight in the mouth; very round and complete. I enjoyed this wine but the coloring concerns me.
