Saturday, November 20, 2010 - 1.5L bottle; decanted 1 hour. This wine showed perhaps its best that I've ever tasted; wondering if the large format bottle that's been cellared a few years is helping its evolution. The "funk" is barely perceptible at this point, and if you didn't know it was there, might even be mistaken as an interesting musty note. Slight bricking. Nose of tart cherries, oak, and leather; palate of sour cherries and plum. Soft mouthfeel, medium weight, quite round. Though the bottles remaining are few, I think this one could go another 1 - 3 years and evolve even a bit further. Wait and see....
