Community Tasting Note

85 Points

Saturday, March 12, 2011 - My second go at this. Tried against Cali Zin for fun. This now has very muted and faint nose of some hints of dark berry fruit and dust. The palate is light bodied, some old world flavour notes and dark plum/berry notes. Finish is decent enough, but simple and not much else.

Average wine with little dimension. The Cali zin had a little more "something" to it...of course completely different style/winemaking - but always interesting how vastly different the same grape can turn out depending on the usual variables.
Cheers

3/12/2011 5:37:00 PM - Must admit this does improve enough with time and air that i should update the above. The nose is similar, but the palate has developed a deeper quality and is actually nice and pleasant with darker fruits and the finish is nice with a smooth quality. I would serve this with a good decant. Give it a 87'ish.
