Sunday, July 31, 2011 - Big, powerful aromatics of tar, smoke, earth, tea leaf, dried red fruit and fig. Very savory wine with an extracted texture but sweetish, rounded tannins. Acid seems low, but may just be being obscured by the high extract and alcohol. Lots of mineral and crushed rocks on the long finish. Good aging potential. Give this one the full ten years, pop it open 2015 and you will be happily rewarded.
