Monday, February 6, 2012 - A merlot-heavy Bordeaux blend like some kind of deranged Antipodean Saint-Emilion. The nose is redolent of plum, laced with capsicum and tomato. The palate is young, soft and fruity with soft tannins. Despite its apparent gentleness, there is a rigid structure here, albeit buried. The impression is of a wine that is tough, but softly spoken, like Clint Eastwood in a Western. It won't make old bones, but it will improve over the next 3-5 years.
