Sunday, August 5, 2012 - Decanted 2+ hours, to go with Sunday steak dinner. This is dark, nearly opaque dark. Bold black fruit, mostly currant, blueberry pie, and rose petals on the nose; lush, ripe blueberry, black cherry fruit on the palate, balanced well with black olives, truffles, and spice. Bitter coffee grinds on the long finish. Nice oak, firm tannins, this has lots of life left in it. Pretty great affordable Bordeaux. 4+13+17+8 = 92
