Thursday, September 27, 2012 - Very tight for about an hour. After that the nose opens up with luscious blackberries, beef, currants, mocha notes, and some savory herbs. The palate is full with strong grilled beef notes, currants and a sage like note. Some oak makes itself known but seems to mellow out in the long finish. Tannins to spare, long life ahead. It continued to improve for hours.
