Friday, October 19, 2012 - Transparent garnet in the glass. Enticing nose with a little funk that can only be Burgundy, red raspberry, spices, minerals, underbrush and flowers. A little oak is present but not but will probably integrate with some cellar time. If for some reason I couldn't drink wine the next best thing would be to just smell this glass. The palate isn't as expressive as the nose right now, but everything is there that makes me believe this should be winner with a few years of rest. Elegant. Love Volnay.
