Saturday, January 26, 2013 - The 2009 is a blend of 85% Syrah and 15% Grenache and pours to a clear deep ruby with a clear purplish tone. The nose is clean with a medium intensity showing ripe blackberries, firm red plums, smoke and some sweet spice. They carry through the palate withe the same medium intensity and a surprisingly refreshing medium acidity. The tannins are medium-minus. The wine is balanced, has a mediu-plus finish, is full bodied and is quite delicious. This is versatile wine that will pair with a variety of dishes. Overall, a very good wine.
