Monday, March 4, 2013 - Blend of 55% Mourvedre and 45% Syrah from Red Mountain. On the nose there is a bunch of floral notes and spices, violet, lavender, and cherry and fennel. The palate is incredibly well balanced with a complex combination of fruit, tannin and mouthwatering acidty. I would have thought the Syrah would have taken over, especially being from Ciel du Cheval, but the Mourvedre is really shining in this. Fantastic wine overall.

9/5/2013 8:24:00 PM - Drinking well now (well, as of March, it's been a while since I've opened one) but has a ton of fruit and acidity, so it's got legs to run. I'd say the very latest would be 2020-2025. Looking forward to future vintages of this.
