Tuesday, March 26, 2013 - Graphite notes a little less pronounced than a typical "big" Napa cab, with fruits leaning toward strawberry-peach. Interesting flavors that are pleasantly different from the usual.

3/27/2013 5:30:00 AM - this is a very interesting note. when I last tasted this in the glass at Maisonry in Napa I do remember it being a little more refined and sophisticated style versus the standard big octane cabs. this seems a little different than i remember it being though but similar in the backed-off style i remember. did you decant or anything? i assume this wasn't a light strawberry-peach but more extracted? how were the tannins?

I definitely think this wine has nice refinement and grace. Extracted? Not so much so. The fruit flavors were not muted, but also not bold. Tannins were not as pronounced as I had expected (and remember from tasting at Maisonry). My guess is that this wine has 10 more years of shelf life-max.
