Monday, April 8, 2013 - Dark, dense and intensely purple wine. Nose is muted dried fruit and tobacco. On first taste, this wine is powerful and full in flavor. Taste of eucalyptus initially transitions into bright cranberry/raspberry flavors - tastes almost like "candied cranberries" - and then becomes even fuller into flavors of leather, tobacco, tar, with a long and astringent finish that hints at charred fennel. Really lively and intense experience. Has an underlying tannic structure that implies it is quite age worthy. You can tell that this comes from great fruit.
