Friday, April 12, 2013 - If you are expecting a Pinot, you will likely be disappointed, but if you are in the mood for piedmontese - you will get what you expect. As others have mentioned - tough to identify this as Pinot, but I think this is showing its "terroir". Forest floor and subtle berries on the nose. Dark cassis fruit, menthol and violets on the palate. Bright fresh acidity, slightly drying tannins - good grip on a nice long finish. Very nice under $30 - prefer it to most Nebbiolo Piedmonts in this price range. Probably better in a couple of years.
