Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - Very much cabernet, and very much california. Actually very much is a good way of describing this wine as there is a lot of everything, or at least fruit and alcohol. The bouquet gives up black currants, boysenberries and blackberries mixed with some vanilla, chocolate and oak-spice. Similar impressions on the palate. Smooth with low acid, low tannin and not much in the way of minerals. Finish is medium long with a slight heat from the alcohol, but still enjoyable.

This is really not my style, but impressive none the less. Others round the table liked it more than I did. For the hedonist.

A word of warning: more than two glasses will give you a headache the next day (15,3% ABV)
