Community Tasting Note

95 Points

Saturday, June 1, 2013 - Possibly the best Merlot bottling I have ever tasted that doesn't say Chateau Pavie on the label. Drinks like a high end right bank Bordeaux, but with Tuscan terroir. Stunning juice! Red fruits and Mediterranean cooking spices complement a terroir driven nose and palate. Fine, Rutherford dust-like minerality delivers a complete mouthfeel. The wine shows great balance, wonderful subtelties, and countless layers. Discreet, yet powerful! Perfect oak treatment. Will hold for a good while. 94-95.

I only found one bottle for $17.50 but would have bought a case if I could have. Even at retail price it's a crazy steal. Anyways, I drank it over two days and it was better on the second day. Thank you for the kind words.

6/22/2013 2:04:00 PM - We sure did! Got it for 50% off at the ABC on Cocoa Beach (we were down visiting family). Only had one left there. I may poke around some other ABCs in the area and see if I get lucky and find some more; I agree, I'd buy them out if I find some! What part of FL are you in?
