Sunday, August 25, 2013 - The wine is a violet hue with raspberry and plum on the nose. Delicate red fruit on the palate initially and quickly transitions to a caramel, butterscotch, cocoa, and licorice mid palate. This is a full bodied wine with balanced acidity and nicely integrated tannins. It had a medium plus finish and is enjoyable and approachable now.

Drank this with a bunch of different wines at the Castello, but adding a tasting note just for this one because it was my favorite of the bunch. Pricier for the flavor, but I still nabbed two bottles to stash away. One thing I noticed was the bottles I purchased had no label (it was printed directly on the bottle), but the bottle that was poured during the tasting was a normal bottle with paper labels.
