Thursday, September 19, 2013 - Testing out my new Coravin and figured I would have a glass of SQN and nurse the bottle over the next 4-6 weeks. Pickle, bramble and spice on the nose. Plenty of heat and extract on the palate, but I dare say, it actually has that indescribable texture and 'crunch' that I so often find in Chateauneuf and never really find in US Grenache. Yum, this is really aging quite nicely!

9/19/2013 11:37:00 PM - Well - would really be interested in your experience with the Coravin. I am quite sceptical and I wouldn't dare to test it with such a wonderful wine :-)

9/19/2013 11:47:00 PM - Having seen comments so far on 4 or 5 bulletin boards on hundreds of bottles, I have no concerns at all about Coravin'ing such a young, sturdy wine. My personal goal is to have 6-10 bottles "on deck" in my own personal "by the glass" program where no bottle is kept around for more than 4-6 weeks.

I find that I am quite sensitive to oxidation in general, so I too will be curious (but not terribly concerned) as I dip into this one over the next month or two.
