Sunday, January 5, 2014 - Almost worrisome how similar in profile and breed this seemed to the Corton-Languettes Grand Cru of lauded vintage we drank alongside it. This also showed lots of dark fruits, more brown baking spices and less depth of register but overall a strikingly similar wine. The mid-palate was where matters settled out a bit, as this was leaner and harder, less expansive moving into the finish. Still, delicious and a great apology for German Pinot Noir, albeit for folks who already dig on fruitless, high-acid mineral bombs from Burgundy.
