Monday, January 6, 2014 - Barely a rose in color, a very blonde, copper blush. Fine bead, obviously a quality sparkler. Initially the acidity is a bit overbearing, but after being open a little while it seems to come more into balance. Lots of pear, strawberry seeds, hints of watermelon and apple. Very light yeast notes under the fruit. A string of minerality runs through the whole thing. Quite a nice sparkler, but I have to imagine that a blanc de blancs may be better with the sushi tonight. Lovely bubbly, excellent QPR, compares to wines twice the price. 12.5% ABV, imported by Selection Eric Stauffenegger.
