Sunday, January 19, 2014 - MONTEVERTINE VERTICAL (FLORENCE - WINE IN PROGRESS 17/11/2013): The best of the three samples, without any doubt.
Ripe and evoleved fruit, so big and elegant, with a hint of truffles coming out. Captivating!
The palate keeps its promises and reveals a feminine body fresh, easy to drink sangiovese with a lot of years ahead
Senza ombra di dubbio ( e anche a mani basse) il migliore dei tre.
Il naso invade l' aria con un frutto evoluto, corposissimo, elegante,
quasi tartufato.
La bocca piacevolmente mantiene le promesse e si rivela freschissima e slanciata.
Una delizia da bere, ma anche da conservare per un futuro ancora più evoluto.

1/19/2014 2:15:00 PM - Sono d'accordo, anche il Montevertine può essere nelle giuste annate un vino davvero pregevolissimo. Questo 1999 l'ho bevuto anni fa, ed anche da giovane era molto buono.
Da quel che capisco, l'errore è stato non affinarne almeno una bottiglia per qualche anno in più. Lo farò con le ultime bottiglie del 2006 che mi son rimaste.

1/20/2014 1:36:00 AM - Non ho mai bevuto il 2006, ma il sangiovese è un vitigno da aspettare almeno 7-10 anni. Ovviamente dev essere un buon produttore e una buona annata!!
