Sunday, February 9, 2014 - An opaque dark wine with a bright crimson hue on the edge, a hint of brett on the nose with dark cherries, blackberries, licorice, charcoal, underbrush, and vanilla. On the palate the wine exhibits tart berries on entry, with an acidic yet refreshing midpalate dominated by balsamic notes. A long finish on this mid bodied wine filled with spices, vanilla, crushed stones, and a touch of stemmy greeness. Classic Ribera that is still quite young, but has great potential hidden beneath, much more open the day after.
