92 Points

Sunday, May 18, 2014 - This is an excellent example of rustic Gigondas, nothing flamboyant. Austere, rocks, minerals, and huge grip. Drank over two days. The attack is powerful and the back features tremendous grip. Came away with the impression that the mid range is not as developed as it should be though. It's not at all hollow, it just doesn't quite match the rest of the wine. A whole lot of wine that is not quite integrated at present, but hopefully will with time. The wine is structured and dense; it should age for ten or more years and there's potential for an additional point or two. 92-93.
