Sunday, June 1, 2014 - Pop and pour. Nose opened right away - big, full, energetic nose, classic Oregon Pinot scents of spicey, funky, brambly fruit. It's 14.3% a.b.v. but there's wonderful balance between richly concentrated fruit and soft, fine-grained tannins that makes this wine seem much lighter than what it is. The initial palate is very full and concentrated, but then the tannins, coupled with just the right amount of acidity, kick in and really focus this wine in a very delightful manner. I paired this bottle with some fresh trout and wow!.. very nice. It seems that lately I've been slogging through mediocre Pinots, so when you hit a bottle that really fires on all cylinders, it reminds you why we spend so much time and money on this wacky hobby.
