Wednesday, September 3, 2014 - 2012 Keller Riesling Trocken Westhofen Kirchspiel
Bright straw yellow, crystal clear and beautiful.
Small nose straight from the bottle. Alcatraz? A touch of green. Minerality and acidic freshness. Otherwise little to gain. Opens somewhat after 1-2 hours in the decanter. But still tight and narrow. The flavor continues in line with the nose. In the mouth it is explosive acidity and minerality. Concentrated and rich, but in a tight package. Acidity, lemon peel.
No doubt again, this is quality, but perhaps a bit "boring" Stylish and slim, but miss the sweetness and fruit. Believe my next bottles to be stored long! Had sky-high expectations. A good riesling but ...
