70 Points

Thursday, November 20, 2014 - Sweet, pruney and simple with virtually no structure. I can't see this wine going anywhere positive, it just doesn't have the stuffing to evolve. A sad showing from this splendid winery. Parker's 96 rating is inexplicable and very worrisome. Tasted three times from three different cases over a five week period with consistent results.

11/21/2014 4:57:00 AM - I'm glad to see a comment from someone tasting from multiple cases. My only bottle so far was the first Caymus I've ever had that I didn't like. It was terrible. I don't understand all the reviews on here praising it. The bottle I had might as well have been pure vanilla extract. I've been wondering if I just had a bad bottle but your review makes me think not. I'm sorry I have more bottles.

I'm normally a huge fan of the Caymus reds, in fact the 2001 Special Select is one of my all time favorites. Ironically, it is also a Parker 96.
