5/3/2015 11:16:00 PM - Sorry the wine was disappointing.
Just FYI, when people refer to a "corked" wine, it is due to a mildew-based spoilage from 2,4,6-Trichloroanisole: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2,4,6-Trichloroanisole
A corked wine is actually spoiled within 10 minutes of the cork being inserted into the bottle, so holding the wine for too long has no impact.
I presume that you really mean that your wine was oxidized (which can happen when the cork fails to provide a good seal), and that can result from holding a wine too long, dry storage conditions, or exposure to heat among other things.
