Sunday, July 12, 2015 - Would agree with the comments to pre-open or decant an hour early on this bottle. It's a thin Pinot upon first pop n pour. The nose was muted, hints of wild strawberry blooms, and evergreen. The red berry fruit did come out to play more after the second hour, and a bit of rustic herb and a venison meat quality that was quite nice. Not sure this Pinot is worth the price point for me personally. Had been hoping for a bit more. We had with a really fine meal of fresh veggies, fruit, grilled prawns, polenta, and tuscan roasted chicken. Should have been some great pairing, but it missed a bit.

7/12/2015 7:23:00 PM - Thanks for your note and rating. We usually open a breathe in the bottle for at least 3 hours before sipping this wine as we do not think it is remotely a pop and pour Pinot if not for any other reason than the upfront alcohol. Having said that, we are big fans of Sea Smoke Ten, albeit we appreciate the price point comment. Have you tried the more cost-effective, arguably less powerful, Southing? We do not like the Botella (too fruity), but the Southing is a winner!
