Friday, August 7, 2015 - Tasted along with the Pichon Baron '10, this was quite a differece style, despite the approx same amount of use of Cab.sauv. This super-tuscan offered a more reserved aromas of red fruit and a lighter purple / red colour. Medium/full-bodied wine, with super-fresh and ripe blackberry and Cherry fruit at the palate. More open then the aromas gives. I was really surrprised over the structure and length this wine offer. Great wine!

Having said that, we were quite surprised/interested that you were sipping the 2011. Did you find it terribly young? You must have let it breathe (decanter or bottle) for hours? Please tell....we have yet to consider cracking open our case.

It was the last glases of the bottle, so probably some air had help the development. But of course, very very young. As that said, i will recommend couple of hour in decanter, and that you try one bottle. The Pichon i don't recommend to try yet. A massive monster compared to the Sassicaia.
