Saturday, February 27, 2016 - Fairly dark garnet. Nose of resinous pine forest, leather, slow-roasted coffee, eucalyptus, Irish Moos, vanilla bean, freshly cleaned swimming pool. Slightly recessive medium-weight palate of black cherry, blackberry, cranberry, milk chocolate, coffee bean, cedar, orange peel with fairly dense mouth-puckering tannins seeping into the fruit mid-palate. The rather slow start and the lengthy tannin action is a clear sign that this vintage is definitely "not yet" open for business. Revisit in 3 years time hoping for tannin integration and increase in power and substance. As it is, one is not yet really tasting everything this wine could offer, but I am not sure if it will ever be what it should have been. Property should probably consider a different consultant.
