2010 Château Canteloup Médoc

89 Points

Wednesday, June 8, 2016 - On the nose, definitely starting to pick up that 'aged' smell. Some balsamic notes with herbs and red fruit. On the palate, good acidity and tannins are integrating nicely. Medium body. Eucalyptus, herbs, and cherry. Comes across a little bit hot giving that cherry cough syrup effect but it's not that bad. Good depth of fruit and this wine could probably go for another few years. At this price point this wine is a winner and is really great with food. Glad I have more.

6/9/2016 6:04:00 AM - Not at this stage. I found the wood fairly well integrated. More cellar time certainly wouldn't hurt it though. I didn't take notes on the first bottle I tried (June 2014) but I don't remember thinking that it was over oaked at the time either. Pretty happy with this bottle for $17 at the LCBO.
