91 Points

Saturday, January 12, 2008 - Popped and poured (unfortunately). In the glass, this wine exhibited a dark garnet color. On the nose, aromas of spice, earth, mushrooms dominated over the subtle dark fruit scents. After revisiting the glass about 45 minutes later, the wine revealed notes of plums and black raspberries with beautiful floral accents. On the palate, plenty of fruit tannins present that would eventually reveal notes of black cherries, raspberries and dried cranberries with notes of spice and black truffles. A tough one to assess given the time.. but from the taste that I had... this is definitely in the low to mid 90's. For now... HS91+
